As the Foundation expands, we aim to provide a range of applicable services which are consistent with our three part objectives of Support, Education, and Research. These services should reduce the overall difficulties, stresses, and troubles experienced by Scleroderma patients, thus improving the overall quality of their lives.
Support
Our Support Services would include a comprehensive range of programmes, geared toward providing the desired mutual support for Scleroderma patients and effectively building our community. These would include, but not be limited to;
- Support Groups
- Counselling
- Physician Referrals
- Financial Assistance
- Massage Therapy & Body Care
- Transportation
Education
Our Education services would empower patients, their families, friends, and the general public through relevant, timely, and pertinent knowledge on Scleroderma and its types, complications and treatments. These services should provide a more comprehensive understanding of the nature and behaviour of the disease. These would include, but not be limited to;
- Group Presentations
- Newsletters
- Workshops
- Caregiver Training & Development
Research
Despite the vast research being undertaken into Scleroderma internationally, the Foundation has recognized that the local and Caribbean context would provide unique research opportunities. This would subsequently require the development of research initiatives which would seek to also find a cure and more effective methods of treatment. These would include, but not be limited to;
- Funding & Research Grants
- Reseach into Alternative Medicines
